Contract Research
VibSpec has experience with feasibility studies
and contract research for large as well as small projects in the area of
vibrational spectroscopy and chemometrics.
An example of a successful three year project is the development of a method
to predict physical and chemical properties of crude oils. This was achieved
by using vibrational spectroscopy and chemometrics. The
result of the close cooperation between Utrecht University, Shell Global
Solutions and VibSpec are scientific papers[1-4], a patent application[5] and a thesis[6].
A software package has been developed by VibSpec
Software B.V. that will allow the user to predict properties like viscosity,
sulphur content and density of crude oils and their blends.
The measurement of active pharmaceutical ingredients and the interpretation
of the near infrared (NIR) and Raman spectra for the RIVM is an example
of a pharmaceutical project accomplished by VibSpec. Furthermore VibSpec performs pilot studies and measurements for industrial
production facilities and governmental research institutes.
