Chemometrics with Vibrational Spectra (MCR, PCA, PLS, CLS etc.)
8-9 November 2023
Staff: Dr. P. de Peinder (VibSpec)
This 2-day course focuses on theoretical and
especially practical aspects of applying multivariate data analysis to vibrational
spectra (quantitative and explorative). You can bring your own laptop for
the practical sessions.
Subjects to be handled:
- sample selection and preparation for quantitative analysis
- scanning conditions and accessories
- explorative data analysis (Principal Component Analysis)
- spectrum pre-processing
- multivariate regression methods like CLS, ILS, MCR, PCA, PCR and PLS
- model validation
- outlier detection
The course aims for people that collect large data sets (e.g. imaging) and
those planning to perform quantitative measurements in (N)IR and/or Raman.
The course consists of interactive lectures and real time demonstrations. The course
takes 2 days (09.00 - 12.00 and 13.00 - 16.00 h) and will be held in Utrecht.
The registration fee for this course is € 1600,- (ex. VAT).
The fee includes
all tuition, course lecture notes, lunch and refreshments.
PhD students
receive a reduction of 10% on the course fee.
The number of participants per course is limited. Course language contingent
on the participants; course material in English.
